McLaren Vale Restaurants
We could call it our Top 10 McLaren Vale restaurants or the best restaurants of McLaren Vale - but that's not what this is all about. For one, there are a lot more than 10 restaurants listed here...
And that is simply because we are truly spoilt in McLaren Vale for choice with plenty of amazing restaurants (did you know that we have 7 "hatted" restaurants that call McLaren Vale home? More than the Barossa Valley or any other South Australian wine region); but the is page is not just about fine dining, and with many open for lunch only finding a great place for dinner (especially mid-week) in McLaren Vale can be a bit of a challenge. That's why we have consolidated our suggestions here for you, covering a broad section from fine dining to just having a casual lunch or dinner.
First page gives you the essentials, from type of venue, price range and the all important opening hours to a little teaser on our thoughts of the meals we have enjoyed there - click through and you will get to our complete review of the restaurant and their food.
Good news is that with Covid-19 restrictions continued to being eased, most of our McLaren Vale Restaurants are back to normal opening hours again, but restrictions still apply and many do have 2 fixed seating times only. We have updated our listings below with current opening hours and the price range also reflect their new menus.
Calling ahead to book is essential for all.

Even after having been at Pizzateca many times now, I am still surprised and instantly feel transposed to Italy.
I am actually not sure why that is – the building doesn’t look Italian at all and the large gum trees don’t fit either, but believe, it is the outdoor dining area, the simple chairs & tables with always a hustle and bustle around, music playing and the smell of pizza in the air that must do the trick ...
Halfway between McLaren Vale and Willunga, fronted by the iconic 2 story farmhouse, is the Penny’s Hill cellar door and their Kitchen Door Restaurant, which unfortunately has not yet announced a re-opening date yet.
