Vale Brewing Taphouse

The new home of Vale Brewing, the original McLaren Vale beer, is almost right at your door step: a short 1km walk from your cottage is The Vale Brewing Taphouse, housed in a beautiful, sleek & ultra-modern building, with expansive (almost 360 degree) views across undulating vineyards & even offering ocean glimpses.

Sitting outside on the lawn or the deck, it is just the perfect place to while away an afternoon, whether going through a "formal" beer tasting (both Vale and Fox Hat beers are available as flights) or just enjoying your favourite brew by the glass: sit back, relax and enjoy the views.

The Taphouse is open daily from 10am to 5pm, offering a snack menu outside their lunch operating hours. 

And if you are feeling hungry: the taphouse operates as a fine dining restaurant (they are actually in the process now to slowly rebrand as Vale Brewing Restaurant & Bar, to better reflect their food offering) during lunch and dinner hours. 

We have been a few times now since they opened in late 2022, and thoroughly enjoyed our food experience; it wasn't what we (initially) expected (casual tap house food) and during lunch hours, you will need to be prepared for the venue also hosting beer tastings  - but now that we know it and go there as a fine dining restaurant, we love the delicious food, views and entire atmosphere.

From the tuna sashimi as starter, to the risotto and fish as mains - all delicately presented in a true fine dining style and absolutely delicious. There are a couple of pizza options and a burger available as well, to cater for those looking for more casual dining - but you would miss out on what they do best.

     

Apart from the beers, Beresford Wines are available by the glass and bottle, plus a few select other brands (by bottle only).  

During our last two visits, we did indulge in the Feed Me menu - highly recommended, offering great value and an oustanding dining experience;  and after all, you can always walk back home to Karawatha Cottages.
