The Unwind Cottage

One of our 1-bedroom cottages, the Unwind Cottage offers you the perfect escape for a McLaren Vale get-away: private, fully self-contained, wood heater and stunning views.  

It may be the smallest of our cottages, yet the Unwind cottage offers you all the same amenities of our larger cottages and is perfect for a couple to escape it all for a few days. What makes it different is its elevated position, offering stunning views from the deck and the living area over vineyards and onto the Mount Lofty ranges (and equally calming forest views from the bedroom), a wood combustion heater to snuggle up for those cold winter evenings and a bathtub & rain shower combination.

Cheese Platter

Cheese & Wine - in our opinion always a perfect match!

 

In particular after a day of wine tasting and a long lunch in one of our many outstanding restaurants, sometimes all you need for a leisurely evening on the deck is a platter of cheese to indulge in and reminisce about your wine discoveries of the day.

Our personally curated cheese platters include a generous selection of three local cheeses (subject to availability), crackers and a range of accompaniments.

Perfect Location for the Perfect Stay
 

We have just spent four nights at Karawatha Cottages and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

 

Georg & Friederike have done an amazing job with the three cottages and their attention to detail is to be applauded. They are extremely generous with their time and the excellent breakfast provisions they provide and have a wealth of knowledge about their region which they are happy to share.

 

We stayed in "Unwind" which is elevated and offers a wonderful view. You want for nothing at Karawatha, Georg regularly topped up our firewood and was always ready to top up our breakfast provisions, but it wasn't necessary.

 

The time, effort and imagination of Georg & Friederike to make a stay at Karawatha Cottages a memorable experience is clearly evident & they deserve to be proud of their achievements. We look forward to our next visit.
